SENIORS ACTIVITY CENTRE

Social drop-in with a warm welcome, snacks, coffee and tea as well as a nutritious lunch

Enjoy the varied physical, creative and intellectually challenging activities offered at Quadra Circle's Seniors Activity Centre in Quadra School, thanks to the generosity of School District #72 and Quadra School staff who share their gym, music and activity rooms on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30 - 3:00 pm. We offer lively games of ping pong, serene Qi Gong, armchair yoga and armchair exercises to meet your own pace, the pleasures of sharing stories through memoir writing, exploring  our creative selves through Pastels and Percussion, growing our brain cells with bridge lessons (and drop-in bridge), managing pain and developing new awareness of our bodies with somatics yoga, creating mosaics, and extending our repertoire of games including Mexican Trains dominoes and Mahjong.

Seniors value the opportunity to:

  • increase their physical activity
  • improve their strength, balance and coordination
  • learn new skills of their own choosing
  • stimulate their creativity
  • maintain their independence
  • get out of the house  more and meet people
  • volunteer and help others
