CHANGE A LIFE TODAY.

Quadra Island...what an amazing and beautiful place to live.

And the people make it even more special.

We are all blessed.

However, some of us may not feel quite so blessed.

This is where you come in.

We understand how valuable your time is. If you're able to share just a small portion of it, here are two meaningful ways to give back to Quadra Island and the community that makes it such a wonderful place.
Your support will truly make a difference!

Who are Nav-CARE volunteers and what do they do?

They are persons with a passion to contribute to their community and who receive special training for the Nav-CARE role.

We will give you all the support you need and match you to a person who needs a few hours a month of your time.

  • Spend time with persons and their families to better understand
    their needs.

  • Help locate services and resources.

  • Assist with getting access to those services and resources.

  • Support persons and their families in identifying, and participating
in, what is meaningful to them.

  • Talk through important decisions and future plans.

  • Relieve feelings of loneliness, and isolation.

Join our Advisory Committee as we strengthen how we care for our neighbours.

  • Offer guidance on establishing community programs, services, and policies that nurture a compassionate volunteer navigation approach, recognizing the importance of human connection.

  • Identify gaps in current services and resources, and thoughtfully recommend innovative, evidence-based solutions that cater to the needs of our community members.

  • Foster meaningful partnerships between community organizations, healthcare providers, and stakeholders to ensure we are pooling our resources effectively for those we serve.

  • Champion efforts to raise public awareness and reduce stigma surrounding caregiving and the challenges of living with declining health, understanding the emotional toll these experiences can have.

  • Advocate for the meaningful inclusion of individuals living with declining health and their caregivers in the co-creation of services, honouring their voices and experiences.

  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of community-based initiatives, ensuring that we adapt and respond to the evolving needs of our community with compassion and understanding.
